‘The Riverwood Forest Retreat- Dooars’ would like to welcome you on a journey to the land of the tea, forests and trekking. The name Dooars (Doors) is derived from the several passes that lead from the region into the Lesser Himalayas.
Day 1
Morning
- Pickup from Siliguri (Hotel/Airport/Railway Station) and travel by road to Dooars.
Afternoon
- Refreshments will be served upon arrival. Check-in to the room, followed by Lunch.
Evening
- Visit to the nearby village to understand the local culture and see the way of life for the locals. Enjoy an Adibasi dance performance during your visit.
- Enjoy a hot dinner at ‘The Hideaway’ in house restaurant.
- Guests have the option of enjoying a drink at the Hornbill Bar or retire for the night.
Day 2
Morning
- Breakfast at ‘The Hideaway’ the in-house restaurant.
- Drive to Phuentsholing - the Gateway to Bhutan from India, pass by terraced fields and tea gardens. Guests can purchase souvenirs of their visit from local shops.
Afternoon
- Guests can treat themselves to some local delicacies for lunch in Phuentsholing.
- Post lunch; depart for the Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuary for an afternoon safari. The sanctuary is home to the endangered One-horned Indian Rhinoceros as well as the Royal Bengal Tiger. Guests can observe the wildlife from the watchtowers.
Evening
- Guests have the option of enjoying a drink at the Hornbill Bar or retire for the night.
- Return to the resort post the jungle safari.
- Enjoy a hot dinner in ‘The Hideaway’ restaurant.
Day 3
Morning
- Enjoy a hot cup of tea before departing for the morning safari in the ‘Gorumara National Park’.
- Drive through the park in a jeep with a stop at the watchtower to view the different species of wildlife that visit the sweet water pond.
- Upon returning to the resort, guests can have an early breakfast prior to departing for their next destination (Hotel/Airport/Railway Station).
